Your stay
When is Massa Vecchia open?
In 2026 the last night is 6 November. In 2027 we reopen on 6 February and stay open until 6 November. We are closed over New Year.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Your room is guaranteed from 3 pm; if you arrive earlier you can already park and use the facilities. Check-out is by 10 am, but the facilities stay available until early afternoon.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome everywhere on the property except the pool area.
How far is the sea?

Hotel, restaurant and pool
Can I have dinner at the hotel?
Yes: dinner is at 7:30 pm, a set menu of Maremma cooking, small or large, vegetarian or with meat or fish; with a little notice we also cook gluten-free, lactose-free or vegan. Book by 10 am. Dinner €20 or €26, buffet lunch €15; children up to 5 eat free, from 6 to 11 €7 at lunch and €13 at dinner.
I have an allergy or intolerance: what should I do?
Just let us know when you book dinner.
What are the pool opening hours?
From 9 am to 8 pm. There is no lifeguard: under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there a wellness area?
Sauna per 2-3 persone su prenotazione (si scalda in circa 30 minuti), idromassaggio all'aperto e massaggi con Stefano, su prenotazione.
When is the bar open?
The bar by the pump track is open from mid-April to the end of October, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, weather permitting.
Accommodation
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, free: the «MV Wifi» network, with registration.
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, two token-operated washing machines; tokens cost €3 at reception.
How much is the tourist tax?
€2 per person per night from 1 April to 31 October, for a maximum of 14 nights. Under-14s are exempt.
Is parking free?
Yes, for all accommodation.
MTB tours
How many trails are there in Massa Marittima?
Around 500 km of mountain bike routes, including 150 km of singletrack, starting from Massa Vecchia.
When are the guided tours?
Every day except Saturday, once the minimum number of riders is reached. Sign up at reception by 6 pm the day before, even if you're not staying with us, depending on available places.
Can I ride on my own?
Yes: all the tours are on Komoot, on the Massa Vecchia profile. At reception we'll suggest the right one for you.
Do you run a shuttle service?
No: all our tours are ridden, starting and finishing at Massa Vecchia. For a shuttle you can contact Bike Service or the Schurter School.
Are there road and gravel tours?
Yes: as well as the 8 mountain bike tours there are 6 road tours and one gravel tour.
Bike Station
Do you sell spare parts?
Yes: inner tubes, tyres and brake pads.
What do I need to use the Skills Park and pump track?
Valid insurance and a signed waiver at reception. The Skills Park was rebuilt in autumn 2025.
Are the pump track and bike hire open to non-residents?
Yes, they are open to non-residents too: just drop by reception.
Bike hire
Is bike hire open to non-residents?
Yes, bike hire is open to non-residents too.
What do I need to tell you to hire a bike?
Your height and whether you want flat or SPD pedals.
Where do I collect the bike?
At the workshop: from 8 am to 3 pm the mechanic sets it up for you, suspension included.
Can I cancel my hire?
Yes, by 5:30 pm the day before; after that, the hire is charged as booked.
Pump track
Who can use the pump track?
Anyone with valid insurance who signs the waiver at reception. It's free to use, with a helmet.
Can non-residents use it?
Yes, the pump track is also open to people who aren't staying with us.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, you can ride it at any level; parents are responsible for their children on the track.
Families
Are there bike tours for children?
Yes, tailored to age and level, with parents or in groups of the same age.
Can children use the pool?
Yes; under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
How much is dinner for children?
Children up to 5 eat free; from 6 to 11, €7 at lunch and €13 at dinner.
